Dr. M. Kathiresan, is a Senior Consultant and Interventional Cardiologist in Apollo Hospitals, Greams Road, Chennai. He is well known among the peers as an accomplished pioneer in Complex and Advanced PCI – stenting and structural heart disease interventions including percutaneous heart valve replacement therapies (TAVI / TAVR, Mitra clip, TMVR, Paravalvular regurgitation closures, etc). He is also consulting at MK Heart Clinic, Velachery and Apollo Speciality Hospital, OMR.

He did his DM Cardiology super speciality course from the prestigious Madras Medical College holding First Rank. He did his MBBS from Stanley Medical College and Internal Medicine from Madurai Medical College. After completing DM Cardiology he undertook fellowship in Interventional Cardiology in Madras Medical Mission, Mogappair, Chennai, well known centre for academics and research. He then collaborated with premier interventional institutes overseas in United States, France and Japan for specific advanced learning objectives in complex coronary intervention and structural heart interventions.

Dr. M. Kathiresan, is recognized for his advanced and complex work in the cathlab and has performed more than 15,000 Interventional Procedures in the cathlab from 2008 till date. Dr. M. Kathiresan, has very good academic record with publications in highly reputed peer reviewed journals. Presently he is one of the highly experienced operators in Complex Interventions like Rotational Atherectomy / Rotablation, Left Main Interventions, Bifurcation two stent techniques, Chronic Total Occlusions, Intra Coronary Imaging with OCT and IVUS, Fractional Flow Reserve (FFR), RFR physiology, Intravascular Lithotripsy shock wave therapy for calcium modification, Excimer laser therapy, etc.
